September Favourites

Is it just me that felt that September was the longest month of the year so far? wow its finally October which means its 11 WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS...
and considering i didn't do an august favorites these are going to be a few favorites from the last 2 month!

Burts Bees Lipbalm in Honey- I finally jumped on the bandwagon with this little product and im so glad i did as i have literally not stopped using it for the past two month. Im not kidding when i say it comes everywhere with me, its so hydrating and makes your lips feel super smooth with a lovely hint of honey. This was around £3.94 from Boots.

Maybelline Baby Lips- THEYVE FINALLY ARRIVED IN ENGLAND... after the big hype over these I went out and bought this cherry one as i really wanted a lipbalm with a lovely tint of pink in it. I really like the colour this gives your lips and is so creamy and hydrating. This was £2.99 from Superdrug.

Garnier Active Intensive Facial Scrub- After trailing the shelves to find a new face scrub, i came across this and im so glad i bought it! It is so good! It clear up any blemishes and marks quickly and you can actually feel it working on your skin! It also makes it super soft and ready to moisturise :) This was around £4 from Asda.

One Direction Perfume- Whilst i was in London for the weekend in August, it just happened to be the launch of the One Direction perfume on the day we were planning to go to harrods! We waiting patiently in the que so that we could go in and buy the perfume and it smells sooo good! its kind of fruity and vanillary at the same time (great description i know). But i do recommend this perfume and its comes in a little pretty bottle too >< I got mine from Harrods for £21 for the 30ml but its is available in most perfume shops now :).

Victoria Secrets Body Spray- Again whilst i was in London, i had been wanting to go into Victoria Secrets for so long and now i had the chance to discover the wondrous place! I was able to pick this body spray up called 'Pure Seduction' with red plum and freesia fragrances in and smells so nice! I have become obsessed with using this as the smell is so strong and beautiful. I bought this for £13.

Songs-

The past two month have all been about The Vamps. I have become obsessed with yet another boyband... i only wanted to know their names. I recently met them a month or so back which im also going to do a blog post about because they are super nice!
Their single Can We Dance is out on itunes now and is so so good! You can also download each of the boys versions of the song too.

The Kooks- Naive (Rediscovered this and has been played none stop.)

Ellie Goulding- Burn

The 1975- Chocolate... REALLY REALLY LIKE THIS BAND.

All Time Low- Weightless... why have i never heard this song before its fab.

Nina Nesbitt- A way in the World

V FESTIVAL AND LONDON

The two main things that i have done in august (except sit and watch tv shows) is going to v festival and and little trip to londonnnnn. I had so much fun doing both of these things and just wanted to share a little of what i got up to!

V Festival
So starting with V... I had never been to festival before so wasn't really sure what to expect and was particularly scared about the horror stories id heard of the toilets and people throwing stuff when standing in crowds, but none of it was THAT bad and  i had such an amazing time and were already planning on going back next year because it was so much fun:)
When we got there, after sitting for hours on end in the traffic, it had been raining awfully bad which made the mud not so friendly. We had to pull all of our stuff which was on these little granny trolleys through the mud which was not pleasant at all  I also lost my sleeping bag and didnt even notice until some very nice lad had to run after me to return it, i would of been so screwed so thankyou kind man i love you...
but after the horrible treck and being super stressed out and tired, we finally found a tent pitch.
We saw some amazing acts over the weekend including:
Two Door Cinema Club
Gabrielle Aplin
Olly Murs
The Script
The Vaccines
Calvin Harris
Scouting For Girls
and of course, BEYONCE

these are just a few of my faves and who were exceptionally amazing because we saw so many acts and honestly couldnt say any of them were rubbish or a let down.

Id probably most definate say that V Festival is a good one to start with if you have never been to a festival before and just hope that the weather is ok because it can be a bit of a downer if it is constantly raining, but luckily after the first day we had fab weather :)

heres a few photies......

London
I then went on a little 3 day trip to london with my friend megan. I had such a lovely time and was super tired from all the walking and shopping we did!
When we got there on the first day, the first thing we did was get the tube to chelsea! From being big fans of the MIC show we could not wait to explore... And of course we had to take a little stop off in the bluebird cafe, were all we could afford was a croissant and a smoothie, but remained classy nether the less;)
We then went to the HUGE westfields shopping centre and spent the rest of the day there as it was horribly rainy outside : (
The next day we ended up doing more shopping, of course...
Firstly we went to Harrods and coincidentally it was the launch of the one direction perfume! We were so chuffed that we could be one of the first few people to buy the perfume and qued for 45 minutes just to buy the little piece of perfection.
We were then super excited to go into the topshop on oxford street and it didnt fail to amaze us as we spent a whole hour just in this shop haha! We only had time to do half of oxford street as its so much bigger than we thought it was so planned to go back the next day.
On our last day we went to camden town as we'd heard so much about it we just had to visit for ourselves. It was a very cool/indie kind of place but had a really cool market selling all kind of different food. We both bought a non alcoholic pina colada in a actual pineapple which was pretty amazing haha!
After visiting camden we then went back to oxford street to discover the other half. We only had a few hours before catching our train so was perfect to just spend the last few hours doing more shopping! We also found the victoria secrets shop which we were pretty happy about and bought one of the lovely smelling body sprays called 'pure seduction' and it smells soooo good.

Here are a few landannnn photos!

So thats just two main things thats happened to me in august and i have enjoyed my summer holidays soooo much, even the days were i have done nothing!

A few festival essentials

I kept meaning to post this actually before I went to V festival but was super busy and just didn't have time, how bad of me:( But I just wanted to share a few of my festival essentials that i would not have been able to survive the festival weekend without!

LANTERN- Once you've returned back to your tent you will be thankful you remembered one of these bad boys as it is completely pitch black so unless you like getting ready in the dark, this is suggested ;)

BABY WIPES AND CLEANSING WIPES- A baby wipe shower is the best your going to get im afraid. These are a must as they come in so handy for everything haha! And for keeping your skin a little healthy, cleansing wipes should do the job by removing any left over make up and avoiding blocking pores with dirt.

SMALL STANDING MIRROR- I recently found out how difficult it is to do you make up without a mirror that stands up properly so making sure you have a good one of these is important and will make life much easier in the mornings haha! Make sure you also get a big enough one so you can make yourself look somewhat decent on festival mornings.

WELLIES- An obvious one, but seriously... if it rains and you dont have a pair of these then i feel sorry for you. I dont know what i would have done without these (probably have lost my shoes somewhere in the mud), but yeah make sure you have a good pair of wellies with you always along wit ha few pairs of welly socks!

A LITTLE RUCKSACK- This was probably my essential for the whole weekend. I took it everywhere with me and fitted everything in it:) I did get a little paranoid about it in the crowds but made sure i pulled it really tight and put a jacket on top of everything inside it, which became super annoying when i wanted to get something out, but did keep my valuables safe and sound ;).

                                                                    Megan :)

Sprayable body lotion? whattttt

After saying 'i want to try that' everytime i went into boots, i finally bought the new Vaseline moisturiser. Its called 'Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturiser' and comes in a deorderant like can and was pretty amazed when i saw this, i mean sprayable moisturiser sounds pretty fun. I really want to try and start moisturiser more because im so so terrible at it and find it really tedious and boring so when i saw this i thought it must be a more quicker way of moisturiser so thought id give it a whirlllllllll..

I actually really like it and it absorbs instantly so your not waiting around for ages for it to dry and you dont get that horrible sticky feeling! It smells soooo nice and i think im pretty obsessed with spraying it hahaha.
This was £4.99 from boots and also does two other scents. :)

Mini Superdrug Haul...

After watching a drugstore haul by Zoella on you tube, i had a few things i wanted to pick up next time i went into Superdrug. These are all things recommended by Zoe in one of her recent drugstore hauls and i was pridddy excited to try them out

The first thing i wanted to pick up was the Bourjois bronzing primer. This is very similar to the Chanel 'Soleil Tan Chanel' but is a third of the price. After using it for a few days i am very happy with this product as the primer just blends into your face without making you look a lovely orange colour, but gives a light glow under your make up. It makes a perfect smooth base to apply your makeup too. It is also good for wearing alone without foundation so would be perfect on holiday if you don't want to wear too much heavy make up.
This was on offer in Superdrug for £6.99 from £9.99.

The next things i was super excited about buying and have been for awhile are the Gelly nail varnishes by Barry M. I had heard many amazing things about these nail varnishes and was shocked id never bought one before. I was not disappointed, they are so nicely coloured and gives an amazing shine to your nails and they dry really quick too. I was expecting them to last longer then they have without chipping but i just think that im rubbish with keeping my nail varnish intact! I was only going to buy one of them but could not decide on just one colour and Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on Barry M nail varnishes so it would have been rude not to buy three and there will be no doubt i'll be going back buying a few other colours. I bought passion fruit, prickly pear and green berry and they were £3.99 each.

Passion Fruit
The last thing that I bought from Superdrug was this eye shadow pencil from Collection in the Vanilla Sky colour. I really want to try and start wearing eye shadows again and i thought this would look really pretty in the inner corners of the eye and will just automatically bright up my eyes. I will also use this as a highlighter, using it under my eyebrows and blending it in. They are quite creamy and I will definitely be using this more with my daily make up routine :).

Things I Love and Hate About Summer

So as we all know, us Brits will never be happy and will always find something to complain about even if there is nothing to actually complain about. In winter we are always moaning about how cold and horrible the weather is outside and how much we wish it was just summer already! But then, as soon as we hit the months of May/June we usually have some lovely sunny days (only some...) and then the rest of the time the weather outside looks like it belongs back in December... However this year surprisingly we have actually had a lot of sun so far for a British weather which is very unusual. However, you would think that this would make everyone happy and there would be no complaining because the British weather has finally got something right! But nope, us Brits still complain about how hot it is and after so many days we are just wishing for the cooler air (maybe even some rain) to appear. This brought me onto writing a blog about things i love and hate about summer in Britain.

(Credit to Tumblr)

THINGS I LOVE...
Summer is definitely one of my favourite seasons along with probably everyone elses

BBQ's- I love BBQ's so much. I mean, whats better than sitting outside in the sunshine eating as many burgers and sausages as you like. Family BBQ's are particularly my favourite as its something that everyone enjoys and gets everyone together whilst drinking cold kopperburgs in the sun. yummy

Summer Clothes- Summer clothes are so much easier to wear than winter. You are (most of the time) able to go out without a jacket or coat and are able to show off your outfit of the day without having to shove a huge furry coat over the top. Especially if you have a few pairs of shorts and skirts they are so easy to wear as you can just throw them on whenever with any little tops.

Bright Colourful Nail Varnishes- Brightly coloured nail varnishes are my favourite! I think they would be a bit inappropriate to wear in winter depending on the colour and may just look a little bit odd. I love all the coral and pastel blue colours and they always look really pretty when wearing anything white, or with a tan on holiday!

Breaking up for the the School/College Holidays- This can also be a hate thing because, well as much as everyone loves breaking up from school or college for summer, the days can start to get kind of boring as practically everywhere you go you need money to spend.. basically everywhere. But Summer holidays are also really fun for hanging out with friends and just have a nice long break from worrying about work for college and preparing to go back in September. Also they are good for taking up new hobbies or finding something new that you like to do, such as me creating this blog out of summer holiday boredom and now i really enjoy writing posts and getting ideas for new things to write about:).

Summer Holidays- Going abroad on holiday is one of my favourite things and i would go on holidays every month if i could... I love seeing new places and just generally being on holiday in the warm sunshine by the pool or the beach and knowing that the weather at home if most likely raining makes it even better! ;)

Holiday Bracelets/Anklets- I have sooooooo many holiday bracelets that i have collected and to be honest i don't even wear them all which is pretty pointless haha! But i really like wearing my holiday bracelets and anklets with my sandles ofr pumps in summer as they just look really cute and remind me of the places i have visited on holiday.

Summer Photographs- Obviously i take so many photos in summer, because well, what better time to take photos?! Everywhere i go im snapping away and just love looking back the next year at all the photos i had taken the year before :)

THINGS I HATE-
I apologize for the amount of writing im putting. sorrrrrry

Hay Fever- Now for all you lucky people out there that don't suffer from hay fever your probably thinking, why does this make you hate summer?! But for anyone who has hay fever and gets it especially bad like i do, you will understand that it makes you feel like your dying and it is the worst thing ever when you have a really bad day of it. I cant stress how much i hate hay fever and is just one of the unpleasant things that mother nature has gifted me with. I have tried near enough everything and still nothing makes it better so i kind of just have to somehow cope and survive the summer months especially on hot sunny days. If anyone else suffers from bad hay fever..
I FEEL YOU BRO, LETS SUFFER TOGETHER.

Warm Nights- Another rare thing in Britain but warm stuffy nights are THE WORSE. You may be lucky and have a fan in your room but for those who don't you will understand how horrible it is to try and sleep in a warm room. Your practically lay in bed sweating (sexy, i know) and not being able to sleep because of how warm and irritated you get. My room may as well be a sauna because its at the back of the house and gets the warmest which is very very unfortunate for me... dayum

Insects- I don't know why but on a night, every fly, daddy long leg, moth and other random flying things think that just because i have my window open and light on, they think that my bedroom is party central. Another reason why my room is so warm because i cannot open my window on a night without getting attacked by some kind of flying thing. Daddy long legs especially are like my fear, they are so ugly ew, like what is even the point in them they are like flying spiders... Not pleasant. If a daddy long leg flies into my room and my dad is asleep so cant catch it, i then have no other choice but to grab my essentials as fast as i can and sleep in the spare room. YOU ARE NOT INVITED HERE OK.

Trying to get ready- When it is 20 odd degrees outside, getting dressed and ready proves to be the worlds hardest task ever if your a girl. I mean we should get a medal for being able to go out in public looking half decent. Here in the UK, we don't have air conditioning installed, because we don't usually need it you see so windows are best were going to get. If you don't know what your wearing for that day, you may want to try and few outfits on to decide. But can you do this with little effort? oh no. You end up getting all frustrated because your getting warm and just give up in the end and throw any old thing on because its just too much effort. Along with trying to do your hair. Now your already feeling hot and bothered when you realise that you have to straighten, curl or put some kind of heating product on your hair which is going to make you twice as hot as you already were. yay. This brings me onto make up. How the hell are you now meant to do your make up when your body temperature is about 30 degrees, i don't even know how we do it, but we do. By the time you have applied your make up your practically sweating it off at the same time which means your have to leave it till the very last minute before you leave to go out.
Its a hard life being a girl in summer eh.

Public Transport- There is nothing worse than sitting on a bus or a train whilst it is 25 degrees outside and there is like 2 windows open on the whole bus. Then it doesn't make it any better when someone on the rather large side comes and sits next to you to ensure that there body heat is getting passed on to you. nice. If anything i would try to avoid public transport but considering i cant drive that will be slightly impossible.

Now there are probably another 100 things i could ramble on about what i hate and love the most about summer but i think im going to stop there, unless i can think of anything else i want to share i may pop something on the end.  :).

July Favourites!

I have seen that on lots of blogs that ive been reading/watching on you tube, that bloggers have been showing each month their 'favourites' and i thought this is something that i would like to blog about each month and show people the products or just random things ive been loving that month. So im going to try and keep this up by hopefully posting one of these at the end of each month. These are a few things i have been loving in the strangely sunny July that England has had...

First thing that i have been using this month is the Maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eye liner in black. For ages and ages i have been using either a liquid eyeliner or a liquid eyeliner pen. So one day whilst in boots i thought i would have a little mix up and try out a gel eyeliner. This wasn't very expensive and i paid £7.99. You also get a little tipped brush to use with it. I really like this product even though you have to spend like, 2 more minutes on it than you usually would with a liquid eyeliner.. but it is definitely worth it. It looks so much better/neater and stays on all day :) At first it is kind of tricky to perfect but is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Not the best, but im getting there!

The next two products are for the face regimeeee. I use to always use the dewy moisturiser by the brand 'Amie'. I really loved this moisturiser but for some reason they stopped selling the brand as i could only find it in Superdrug. It disappeared off the shelves for ages until i went into Tesco and found that they had magically reappeared. I didn't buy the moisturiser but thought that i would give the radiant exfoliating daily facial wash a try. I wouldn't use this product if you want to get rid of any trouble areas such as spots or pimples but it is great to use everyday, morning and evening to get rid of any left over make up and clears away dirt and impurities and is super gentle for sensitive skin. It also includes lots of natural extracts including vitamin E.

The next thing on my favourites is the new Moisture Match moisturisers by Garnier. I had ordered free mini samples of each of the moisutrisers so i could try them all and see which one i liked the best. I think that my favourite was the 'Wake Me Up' moisturiser so went a purchased this from Superdrug for £3.99. It comes out into a gel form and you only need a small amount for it to do the job as it is fast absorbing and free from oil. I find that it gives my skin a brighter glow and definitely makes my skin look better in a morning.

This has definitely been my summer staple for this year. I have been loving my white lacey topshop skirt as it goes with everything and just looks really pretty and you can practically wear any top with it. It has definately been one of my favourite buys for summer this year and it is also high waisted, so if your like me and you want to accentuate (wow big word) your waist this is perfect. This was £25 from topshop.

Moving on to shoes. I am very fussy with the type of sandles i buy because i have really dodgy feet and certain shoes can start to rub me really easily, like i cannot wear flip flops to save my life. So i am very particular when it comes to my sandles and keeping my feet comfortable. So i thought that would give these tan sandles from Next a go. I instantly loved them as they were super comfy to wear and didn't rub me and so i then obviously had to buy another pair in the white. I will get a lot of use out of these through august and for my holiday. I think they were around £22.

Another pair of summer shoes i bought this year was these Cath Kidston pumps. I am forever wearing pumps and converse and i really loved how bright and summery these little pair of shoes were. They weren't too expensive for Cath Kidston either and i paid £24 for them :).

BN BISCUITS ARE BACK IN TESCOSSSSSS.... i was so excited when i found these biscuits back on the tesco shelves that i just had to buy some and relive my childhood. You can find them in Tesco for around £1-£1.50 and can also get them in the bigger version biscuits in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavours!

I was also super excited when i wandered into Marks and Spencers and found these brand new wonderful creations. Percy Pig Pens. Me and my friends are absolutely obsessed with Percy Pig sweets (especially Percy Piglets!) and i also am in love with the strawberry pencil sweets that you can get from Tesco for 39p, so as you can probably tell i was excited when i seen these. They lived up to my expectations and are really yummy! You can find them in Marks and Spencers food for 90p a pack!

Songs

I have been obsessing once again over a new One Direction Music Video, and trust me, if you watch it you will know why. Their new single 'The Best Song Ever' is available to download form iTunes now and i am in love with it, as always.

Ariana Grande's new single 'Baby I'  has also been released and shows off such a beautiful voice. I really love Ariana's songs and am so excited to hear her full Album when it is released!

Also one last song i have been really loving and it is one of my favourite songs, is Demi Lovatos 'Made In The USA'. Also in the music video it features Ethan from series one of 90210 if anyone remembers him! I am so in love with her album and will probably make a random blog about it sooner or later because it is just fantastic and i think everyone should go and download it...

And that my lovelies is the end of my July Favourites. Make sure you leave any comments (nice ones please ;) ) and remember to follow if you like my blog so far, im still working on it but hopefully im getting better at it.

V festival Shopping Haul

Considering V festival is around 3 week away, i felt very unprepared clothes wise. And i know people say 'it isnt a fashion show', but i wanted some festivaly clothes that you see in magazines, and lets face it, i wasnt going to rock up to v festival wearing my scruffs now was i...

So off i went to liverpool with my mum and picked up some v festival items and not so v festival items. I never usually buy a ton of clothes from primark but this time id saw quite a few little items that i quite liked.

Starting with this baggy white t shirt. I was looking at buying one from topshop which had a very similar pattern to this one but this was less than half the price! I thought it would look really nice through summer to just shove on with shorts and may even take to travel to V in it. This was £5 from primark.

The next thing i magically spotted was, maybe my favourite buy of the day which was this little mermaid t shirt. I love it and think it is so cute to wear in summer. It looks quite long on this picture but when its on it fits perfect and is still pretty loose. This was £6 from primark.

I also picked up these very cute pajama shorts with little blue embroided pattern on the bottem. As the nights have been unbearably warm and humid i have noticed i dont really have any shorts to wear so thought these were a complete bargain from primark for £4.

My mum spotted this little denim playsuit on one of the model stands and thought it would be a very nice outfit to wear at v festival. This was from primark for £12.

For shoes at V festival i wanted to buy some cheap pumps that would go with anything and that i wouldnt be bothered about if they got ruined whilst i was there. These little grey pumps from primark for £6 were just what i was looking for.

The last thing i bought from primark was this little rucksack for £9. I was looking for a perfect bag for V festival and was originally not wanting one of these as i dont think they will be very safe. However i finally gave in and bought this one which has a bookle on it and you can pull it super tight to stop anyone putting their hands in. Hopefully it will do me proud whilst at V!

I then went into the ever so famous topshop and purchased this very cute straw beekeeper hat. This will come in handy for hiding any horrible festival hair and i will also use this for on my holiday in october:) this was £22.

I have been looking for a perfect statement necklace, but didnt want anything to chunky or tacky. I went into miss selfridge and found this little necklace which was in the sale for £3.50 which is a complete bargain. I love it and im sure i will get alot of use out of this.

I then excitedly went into jack wills as they have a summer sale on and i usually find some really nice things at a bargain price (last year i paid £29 for a £89 dress it was fantastic). I then found this dress that i originally wanted in red but they didnt have my size left. I am planning a trip to london in august and think this would be a perfect little summer dress to wear. This was £44 reduced from £49, not much of a saving but it was to nice to leave.

The last thing i bought was this denim jacket from new look for £18. I had been wanting a denim jacket for a while and found this perfect one at a good price. This should come in handy for those chilly summer days that england is famous for. I will also more than likely take this to V festival too. :)
